Meta is making the Quest 2 VR headset available at a cheaper price for this reason

Meta is permanently lowering the price of the Quest 2 VR headset to $250 after the launch of the Quest 3, according to a Quest Blog post update spotted by TechCrunch. The Quest 2 has been on sale at this price since Black Friday, but the new retail price may provide offers. Better than the previous generation model, according to an engadget report.

“We knew we could do more to make VR less expensive and bring more people into the community, which is why we’re permanently lowering prices on the Quest 2 and its accessories,” the company wrote. “As of January 1, the 128GB Quest 2 is now priced at $250,” the company wrote. While the price of the 256 GB model is $300.

Meta is also reducing prices for refurbished units to $230 and $270, respectively.

The Quest 2 became one of the most popular VR headsets thanks to its low $300 launch price, but the hype died down when the Meta raised the price to $400 in mid-2022.

The $500 Quest 3 was a huge step forward thanks to improved displays and lenses, a more compact design, faster performance, mixed reality cameras and more.

With hundreds of VR titles available – including Resident Evil 4, the new Roblox game, and the popular Beat Saber game – the Quest 2 is still a great entry into the world of VR. It’s now even more attractive at this price, and we may see a further drop in sales within Next year.
